Late afternoon walk on May, 2 in Breisach- The town was walking distance from the ship so we wandered off to see the sights. The cathedral was on a hilltop and the main road looked pretty sunny. We walked around the town on the shady sides of the streets until we found a shady walking path to the hilltop.
May 2 Bus and walking tour of Strasbourg- Our tour guide Gianni had an Italian father and a French mother. He emphasized all the changes in Strasbourg as it has changed back and forth from Germany to France many times over the centuries. His grandfather was born during a period of German control so his native tongue as a youth was German but he considered himself French. During his grandfather’s life the nationality of the town changed four times.
