About Us And Our Blog

Nick and I love to travel and we try to document the places we have been. We have two married daughters and two delightful granddaughters. This year we will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and we decided it was time for another fun trip.

Nick is a professional genealogist and enjoys tracing our ancestors and does the same for clients. It is also a puzzle for him to try and figure out what brought them to certain locations or why they moved on. Nick has been blogging for several years and his blog can be found at:

Robin enjoys sewing and the process of creating! Her primary love is quilting. She is always on the lookout for wonderful designs and ideas that can found in our daily lives.

History has always played a big role in our lives. While most of our traveling has been through the United States visiting historical sites, cemeteries, quilt shows, quilt museums and a few shops along the way. Over the last couple of years we have had the great fortune to expand our travels.

On this trip we will be traveling with our friends Bonnie & Mark. Mark is a pastor and his first church appointment was to St.Paul’s United Methodist Church in Reno, NV in 1982. This is the same time that we moved to Reno. We read in the paper that the church had a new pastor from Sacramento, CA (where we both grew up) and two young boys (we had two young girls). Our two daughters are 9 mos older than their two sons. The friendship has grown over the years and has seen both families through several moves, struggles and celebrations. Bonnie and Mark now live in Monterey, CA. While Mark worked as a pastor, Bonnie spent several years working as a social worker for the Alzheimer’s Association. Both continue to serve their local communities with love, patience and understanding. Creating beautiful pottery is a long time passion for Mark, that can be traced back to his college days.
