Basel May 1 continued- The ship started moving last night around 7 PM but there was an incident in the first lock so we had to wait for that to clear. We passed through several locks which was fascinating to watch from our window. Here are a few pictures from yesterday and last night:
The destination this morning was the Black Forest. Our bus driver was highly skilled at negotiating the curvy road into the mountains. Located in Breitnau, the Hotel Hofgut Sternen is the central building of this resort. The first known innkeeper was Wehrlin Müller in 1446. The restaurant specializes in demonstrations of the making of the famous Black Forest Cake. The gift shops feature demonstrations regarding the cuckoo clocks and glass blowing. We had options for a hike into the forest. Mark and Bonnie chose a stroll to the St. Oswald’s Chapel but Robin and I opted for strolling the grounds. Here are pictures from all four cameras.
